Rather than shop for what I need for the week, for say... Shabbos, I look for sales on the items that I need and buy enough for several weeks ahead. A freezer is really handy when you get a good sale. Just today I saw a nice sale on Rubashkin's chicken. I don't normally buy so much at once, however, today I did in order to have it available for the following Shabbosim. Every little bit helps.
